MORE READING

After reading After the Party and some other books by Lisa Jewell I decided to take a break from her books because I got so tired of reading about the problems of the 30something Londoners and their recreational drug use which seemed to be some kind of a theme in many of the books.

In the spring I gave The truth about Melody Browne a go and liked it because it was a little bit different than other Lisa Jewell books and quite recently read The Making of Us and enjoyed it too for the same reason. Light reading but also fun and entertaining.

Mustalla on aina ollut vähän outo suhde punaiseen pörrösukkaan. Tässä eräänä päivänä otettiin yhteen oikein kunnolla.

MUSTA KERTOO / THE BLACK ONE HAS SOMETHING TO SAY

Moi!

Toi Emäntä alkoi bloggailemaan ja ajatteli kertoa, mitä kaikkea voi tehdä kun ei ole ääntä. Mutta eihän se teitä kiinnosta. Kuka nyt haluaa tietää, että Emäntä on kutonut sukan tai aloittanut kaulahuivin kutomisen, tai että hän on lukenut kirjoja, jotka toivat kyyneleet silmiin, paremman mielen, naurattivat, saivat hymyilemään ja innostivat äänettömiin hihkaisuihin. Ja se nyt viimeksi teitä kiinnostaa, että tuo äänetön Emäntä on tehnyt itse tyynynliinan tilkuista. Tyynynliinan, jota on suunnitellut yli vuoden ja jonka tekeminen oli aika hankalaa kun Emäntä ei oikein hallitse tuota ompelukonetta. Niin että eihän teitä tuollaiset kiinnosta vaan te haluatte kuulla mitä mulle, Mustalle, kuuluu.

IN ENGLISH:

The Mistress of the House started blogging in order to tell you what kinds of things you can do if you have lost your voice. But you are not interested in all that, are you? I don't think any of you really want to know that she has knitted a sock, has started knitting a scarf and has read several books that have made her cry, made her feel better, made her laugh, made her smile and even made her cry out loud with out any sound at all. And the last thing that interests you is that this Mistress who has lost her voice has made a pillow case. A pillow case that she has been planning for over a year and that has been pretty difficult work since she is useless with a sewing machine. So, you don't want to hear about things like that, you want to know how I, the Black one, am doing.

Mulle kuuluu hyvää, kiitos kun viimeinkin kysyitte. Tuolla pihalla lentelee keltaisia lehtiä ja talitinttejä. Haluaisin maistaa tinttiä ja ehkä ihan kiinostuksesta keltaista lehteäkin. Naapurin kissa oli meidän ikkunan alla ja me Kirjavan kanssa vähän sähistiin. Sille kissalle, ei toisillemme. Emäntä istuu saunassa ahkerasti ja niinpä mullakin on ollut saunavuoro joka päivä. Aloitan aina massu kohti kattoa ja lämmittelen oikein kunnolla ja sitten kun en enää kestä, ryömin pöydän alle keittiöön, mutta kyllä siellä saunassa yleensä tunteja menee. Meillä on uusi kiipeilyteline ja siinä on hyvä nukkua. Päivisin leikin Kirjavan kanssa ja leluilla. Mulla on hyvä olla!

IN ENGLISH:

So, I am doing fine, I am glad you finally asked. There are some yellow leaves and little birdies flying outdoors and I feel like tasting a little birdie and maybe even a yellow leaf. The neighbour's cat was outside our window the other day and the Colourful one and I made hissing sounds to scare him a little bit. The Mistress spends a lot of time in the sauna so I have had a sauna night every night. I start my bathing with my belly towards the roof and warm myself really well and when I can't take it any longer I go to the kitchen but I usually spend hours in the sauna. We have a new climbing frame and it is very nice. I have a new place to sleep. In the daytime I play with the Colourful one and some toys. I am happy with my life.
